"Wave" domestic heat pumps are water-cycle type: no refrigerant coils in water tanks, water pipes connect main units and tanks. This design brings more safety and installation convenience, less refrigerant leakage possibility. (Traditional domestic heat pumps are refrigerant-cycle type: copper pipes connect main units and tanks, refrigerant coils goes into water tanks.)
